Eric and Shannon Ravenscroft bought their first registered Red Angus females in the spring of 2009. Ravenscroft Red Angus may be fairly young, but not new to raising cattle. Eric is a fourth generation rancher on the Three Bar Cattle Co in the Sandhills of Nebraska. The Three Bar started using Red Angus bulls in 2008 on their 1,200 head herd of crossbred cows to make a Red Angus base for replacement heifers. That is when Eric and Shannon started buying Red Angus cows that would work for them. This registered cow herd has grown to 100 head and growing. Most cows calve in April and May. The early summer calving program has been implemented on the Three Bar Ranch since 1986. The Three Bar has been involved with intensive cattle rotation grazing for the last 30 years making the ranch more efficient. Ravenscroft Red Angus has been striving to raise efficient cattle with growth.
We are a busy family with College Rodeo's and Local Rodeo's we attend. So we are busy when we get home catching up with cattle and the day to day operation of the ranch.
